DESCRIPTION
Drawing inspiration from classic 8-bit home computer flip-screen titles like Jet Set Willy and Dizzy, alongside early Console platformers like Montezuma's Revenge and Pitfall 2. 8-Bit Space 2 pairs a ZX Spectrum-inspired colour palette with responsive controls and an authentic FamiTracker chiptune score
STORY
Following the events of the original game, our astronaut successfully activated a mysterious portal and ventured into the unknown. After being trapped in another dimension, he finally managed to break back into his own reality, only to find himself stranded in an unfamiliar sector of deep space, completely separated from his ship.
Guided by his trusty AI companion, ZX64, he must traverse 15 non-linear planets (levels) across 5 distinct biomes, each larger and more treacherous than the last, to navigate his way back to his spaceship and return home.
FEATURES
-
NES Compatibility: Built to run natively on original 1985 NES hardware, op-loaders, flash cartridges (like EverDrive), FPGA consoles, and retro emulators.
-

-

-
Chiptune Soundtrack by TakuikaNinja: An authentic NES soundtrack composed natively in FamiTracker by chiptune artist TakuikaNinja (Takumi Grainger), known for his work on Doodle World.
DEVELOPER QUOTES
On the game design: "I wanted to capture the open-ended exploration of the classic 8-bit computer games I grew up playing, but without the notoriously punishing difficulty of those old titles."
On working with Broke Studio: "Teaming up with Broke Studio means I can offer proper physical NES games for backers who want a boxed copy on their shelf."
On working with TakuikaNinja: "Having TakuikaNinja handle the soundtrack has been brilliant, and his authentic chiptune score really helps build the game's atmosphere."
